Plagiarism Policy
The Journal of Thought and Policy Analysis is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and ensuring that all published works are original and free from plagiarism. To maintain the quality and credibility of the journal, we adhere to a strict plagiarism policy, as outlined below:
1. Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism refers to the act of using someone else’s work, ideas, or intellectual property without proper attribution, thereby presenting it as one's own. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Copying and pasting text without citation.
- Using others' research data, ideas, or conclusions without acknowledgment.
- Self-plagiarism, where authors recycle their own previous work without proper citation or acknowledgment.
2. Plagiarism Detection
- All submitted manuscripts are checked for plagiarism using reputable plagiarism detection software before the peer review process.
- Any manuscript found to contain significant plagiarism and whose plagiarism check results exceed the maximum limit of 20%, or which fails to properly cite the work of others, will be rejected or returned to the author for revision.
3. Action Against Plagiarism
- If plagiarism is detected after an article has been accepted or published, the journal will take appropriate action, which may include retracting the article, issuing a correction, or contacting the relevant institutions or publishers for further investigation.
- Authors found to have committed plagiarism may be banned from submitting future work to the journal, depending on the severity of the case.
4. Author Responsibilities
- Authors are expected to ensure that all sources, ideas, and data taken from other works are properly cited in accordance with the journal's citation style.
- Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest, as well as any previously published material that might overlap with the current submission.
5. Ethical Guidelines
- We encourage authors to familiarize themselves with ethical guidelines on proper citation and the avoidance of plagiarism. Authors are expected to engage in responsible research practices and uphold the highest standards of academic honesty.
6. Commitment to Academic Integrity
The Journal of Thought and Policy Analysis values transparency and originality in all published work. We are committed to providing a platform for high-quality, ethical research, and to taking appropriate measures to maintain the integrity of our publications.
